Thanks for pointing it out to me.
PPatricia Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18242005769500743440noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14497031.post-1144357346512779502006-04-06T17:02:00.000-04:002006-04-06T17:02:00.000-04:00I didn't mean accountable to the law, but accounta...I didn't mean accountable to the law, but accountable in the eyes of God. They deny it happened because they don't want to be part of the problem.

But if a parent was either harming a child, or ignoring harm that they knew was being done to a child, they ARE accountable for their action/inaction whether they choose to admit it or not.

Parents are people, too. They carry their own baggage to the table & often times feel ashamed of mental illness when I think a LOT (but certianly not all) of mental illness is caused by unresolved trauma.Dear Jane...https://www.blogger.com/profile/03553032955179743411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14497031.post-1144353688323068632006-04-06T16:01:00.000-04:002006-04-06T16:01:00.000-04:00No, I don't think its neccessarily the case that p...No, I don't think its neccessarily the case that parents vigourously deny and deny the horrific abuse that their children were subjected to just because they are afraid they would be held accountable (before the Law) for their actions. Its more a case of the the abusive/crazy parents colluding with the overt demands of the abusive/crazy Status Quo to with they are so symbiotically identified.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14497031.post-1144331077755594222006-04-06T09:44:00.000-04:002006-04-06T09:44:00.000-04:00the reason parents deny deny deny is because if th...the reason parents deny deny deny is because if they actually admitted that the horrible stuff happened, they would be held accountable for their actions or inaction. It is much easier to live with themselves blaming it all on the imagination of their child.

Any time I even suggested anything to either of my parents, it was met with "it never happened. You're crazy, or you are just trying to get attention." Well, it DID happen, I am not crazy, nor I am simply saying things to get attention. At least I finally realize that now.Dear Jane...https://www.blogger.com/profile/03553032955179743411noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14497031.post-1144281678725189002006-04-05T20:01:00.000-04:002006-04-05T20:01:00.000-04:00Re: Behind the LabelNo doubt, you'll enjoy my most...Re: Behind the Label

No doubt, you'll enjoy my most recent entry titled: A conversation with a psychiatrist.

Regards.Spiritual Emergencyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16283478682307609903noreply@blogger.com
