The Skinnerian Effect

When you train people to do what you want by treating them like rats in a maze, over which YOU have control, it should come as no surprise that the result you will get is that of a group of people who behave like highly trained rats.
I suspect though, that even actual rats who have been trained, are not the rats you really need them to be to justify your own training methods. It is not about intellect, or about learning anything. It is about basic survival when trapped in escape proof situations. Some people call that, and the results of it, “good.” I call it a convoluted horror made all the more horrifying and surreal by the happy smiles of those who see it as a “success.”
